Our

Federal Government client is seeking an experienced

Project Coordinator to join their

Canberra team at the

EL1 level for an

October 2023 start.


ABOUT THE JOB

As a Project Coordinator you will report to the Business Project Manager and Director, and work with the IT Project Co-ordinator to monitor project progress.

You will perform project coordination duties, including drafting and maintaining the budget, schedule, risks and issues.

You will also prepare and maintain documentation such as project plans and status reports, and will engage with a wide range of project stakeholders.

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and draft project artifacts
  • draft and update key business project documentation to define the project, such as the Project Management Plan.
  • Monitor, track, and report on project progress and prepare regular status reports for submission by the Project Manger to the SRO and Project Board.
  • Coordinate engagement as required between the project stakeholders (including customers of the end product) and the business project team with the external ICT project team delivering the solution.

THE SUCCESFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

Essential

  • Project experience and skills, including analytical skills to inform reviews and reports (eg. inform decisions, risks, changes), clear writing skills in support of project management deliverables and reports, and coordination skills (eg. time management, resourcing, scheduling and budgeting).
  • Communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with both Business and IT teams to coordinate delivery of the agreed work within schedule and budget.
  • Document control and record keeping experience in line with standard processes is necessary, as the project will need to comply with the department's Project Management Framework.
  • Experience with project coordination.

Desired

  • Project management experience with a certified/accredited PM qualification.
  • Understanding of helpdesk and backoffice support team environment and processes.
  • Experience in a federal or state/territory government policy department.
