About the Role

Program

Engineering Manager to manage, organise and coordinate the engineering and technical operations of the program through sound and compliant engineering management practices, safe and innovative engineering solutions, methods and techniques which provide a competitive advantage.

  • Work in collaboration with design, engineering and construction staff to develop and accommodate appropriate construction methods, program and cost plans that are consistent with achieving the design intent
  • Work with teams to develop innovative solutions that provide value
  • Manage the development and delivery of design and engineering documentation carried out by consultants
  • Manage the design and engineering activities to conform to construction schedules to complete the works within the required timeframe, budget and quantity parameters
  • Regularly monitor the status of safety, planning, environmental and quality activities
  • Mentoring and managing the engineering staff, including site staff in the principals of sound engineering management and communicate company specific management system requirements to those staff
  • Communicate construction related outcomes with various stakeholders outside the construction sector.

About You

  • Passion to bring innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges and to help develop a strong engineering team
  • Relevant tertiary Engineering qualifications (civil/structural) with significant experience in the same or similar role
  • Competently interact between the D&C teams as well as build and maintain relationships to drive efficiencyacross the alliance
  • Demonstrated success in managing design consultants to time and cost targets, engineering standards and contract requirements
  • Handson approach to resolving daytoday issues as well as more complex, technical issues
  • Strong leadership capabilities and ability to provide strategic direction to the business for its longterm growth
  • A demonstrated detailed understanding of contract management and cost control
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with and manage a diverse team
