The Manager System Quality Review and Support key responsibilities are:

  • Lead the design and implementation of continuous quality and improvement processes and frameworks that are informed by internal, external and academic data, research, monitoring, review and evaluation.
  • Lead, guide and support others as appropriate in design, implementation planning, monitoring, review and evaluation to enhance effectiveness and demonstrate the impact of Youth Justice initiatives and interventions. This includes local, state wide and systems level reviews.
  • Advance and support the use of design thinking and methods to create innovative and evidencebased initiatives and interventions for young people in the youth justice system.
  • Develop, coordinate and deliver authoritative, professional and timely advice to the Director and key stakeholders on issues pertaining to the full continuum of youth justice service delivery of the department, including departmental interventions and initiatives and system reform required to enable high quality and effective intervention.
  • Lead effective stakeholder engagement on behalf of the Director with a wide range of organisations, agencies and offices.
  • Coordinate submissions, documentation, proposals and initiatives and contribute a strategic perspective to responses.
  • Manage projects of a complex, sensitive and contentious nature as assigned by the Director including new youth justice service centre/detention centre initiatives and interventions.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct and translate research on youth justice service centre and youth detention centre matters and other practices relating to young people at risk of offending and reoffending within the community affecting the policy and operations of the department, including the analysis of findings and the recommendations of appropriate courses of action.
  • Manage the Youth Justice Quality team including work planning, project completion and financial and human resource responsibilities.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the governance and strategic objectives of the department.
