Hudson are seeking
Claims Support Officers to join a Federal Department on a long-term contract based in Melbourne CBD.


About the role:

-
Pay rate: APS4 Level equivalent $44p/h + Super.
-
Contract:Starting end of September after security checks have come through clear. The contract is until the end of the June 2024 and is highly likely to extend or transition to a non-ongoing position and should be treated as a long-term opportunity.

Location:Melbourne CBD with some WFH days after the required months of training and based on performance.

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. Flexibility is offered after the required months of training.

YOU MUST BE AN AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN TO SECURE A ROLE

Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Reviewing the content of incoming claims and assessing the most appropriate allocation based on the client's circumstances and service history.
  • Actively investigating claims, liaising with clients and stakeholders (healthcare providers and medical experts) to supply evidence to inform decision making, chasing up documents and referral letters.
  • Demonstrating highlevel client service skills, including phone & written contact with clients & internal/external stakeholders, having difficult conversations from time to time.
  • The client engagement may last for the duration of the claim cycle and may include but is not limited to: providing updates on the claim investigation; requesting outstanding information and explaining to the client the claim journey.
  • You will not be expected to determine claims in the role or deliver outcomes of claims to beneficiaries.

Desirable skills and attributes for the role:

  • The ability to demonstrate empathy and patience for individual's circumstances is essential
  • Exceptional customer service, telephone manner and communication skills
  • Experience working within the healthcare sector, claims, injury, finance, community services or managing a case load is highly regarded
  • Demonstrated ability to follow process, policy and legislation
  • Resilience, a sense of humour, an analytical mind and a proactive attitude are all essential
  • Proven experience picking up internal software's and sounds knowledge of MS Suite.
