The Role

Defence Force Recruiting (DFR) is seeking an experienced APS 6 Procurement and Contract Management Officer with extensive understanding of complex procurement and contract management.

This exciting role will be part of a team that manages a wide range of contracts within DFR, to provide recruiting services to the Australian Defence Force.


You will contribute to team knowledge and expertise in accordance with legal principles, legislative and mandatory policy compliance obligations related to contract management in Defence and the Performance Management Framework in particular.

You will demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of procurement and contract management functions and administration, performance management and compliance with contract requirements.


The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace.

Applicants engaged into a BDCP position must consider the following. BDCPs provide remuneration in addition to the Defence Enterprise Agreement (EA).

Should the BDCP be ceased you will be advised and your BDCP additional payment will cease.


About our Team

DFR is a public-private collaboration between Defence and a recruiting company and provides recruiting services to the Australian Defence Force in accordance with standards and policies set by the Navy, Army and Air Force.

Recruiting services are delivered using a mix of military, APS and contractor staff operating in a high energy, multi-vendor environment which is responsible for directly delivering capability to the Australian Defence Force.


The Directorate of Business and Contract Management (DBCM) within DFR, provides financial and business support services for the Branch and contract management of those specialists engaged to support the recruitment effort.
