The Role


Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Finance and Systems is responsible for the strategic oversight and optimisation of financial operations, technological advancements, and innovative solutions within the organisation.

This role is pivotal in steering the financial health and technological competitiveness of the company towards sustainable growth and success.

Additionally, the Head of Finance and Systems provides leadership and guidance to the Finance Officer and Business Services Team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

This role is tasked with providing strategic financial advice, building commercial acumen within the business, aligning financial strategies and systems to achieve business objectives whilst driving operational efficiencies to enhance our organisational competitiveness.


Your mandate includes:

  • Leading the strategic development and implementation of financial strategies and systems that support the company's growth objectives.
  • Evaluating, selecting, and implementing cuttingedge financial technologies and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and decisionmaking capabilities.
  • Championing a culture of innovation by fostering creativity, experimentation, and continuous improvement in systems, processes, and practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, while mitigating financial risks through robust governance and controls.
  • Driving operational excellence through process optimisation, cost management, and performance measurement to maximise value and operational effectiveness.
  • Managing the finance team and work closely with the administration team to ensure effective and efficient delivery of business services to support companywide operations.
  • Maintaining and developing business partnering initiatives; actively engaging with stakeholders across various departments to understand their objectives and challenges.
  • Managing the preparation of monthly management reports and all other related reporting obligations as required.
  • Working with the Leadership and Management Teams to develop budgets in support of business planning initiatives.
Nurturing a high-performance culture by providing leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to team members, fostering collaboration, accountability, and engagement.

This is a new, permanent, full-time role that is available now, as part of our organisational advancement and growth strategy.


About You


Given the strategic nature of this role and its impact on organisational success, you will possess a blend of financial acumen, leadership capabilities, and a forward-thinking mindset.

Additionally, experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving transformational change initiatives would be advantageous.

You will have demonstrated expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and innovation leadership.

With strong analytical skills, you will interpret complex financial data, and exhibit proficiency in implementing technological solutions to enhance business operations.

A proven track record in fostering a culture of innovation and driving operational excellence will be important in this position.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A natural leadership approach, that demonstrates integrity and accountability
  • A collaborative, knowledge sharing style, as these are two of our company's core characteristics
  • A mature, innovative approach to solving problems
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Additional qualifications such as CPA, CFA, or MBA is preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance or business leadership role, preferably within a similar industry or context
  • Integrated ERP (or multifaceted accounting program) software proficiency. Prior experience using Deltek Vision is highly desirable
  • The ability to manage multiple, competing priorities, under pressure.
  • An adaptable, agile mindset
  • Proven ability to engage at a personal level with those in your charge, to understand their goals, drivers, and wellbeing consideration

We currently operate from offices located in Brisbane, Newcastle, Townsville or Perth and offer flexible work arrangements for our staff.
