    Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) - Contract Position

    Duration: 6 months

    Potential Extension: Likely extension based on a 2-year program of work

    Overview:

    We are seeking an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team for a 6-month contract position, working 2 days per week. The successful candidate will be involved in a comprehensive 2-year program of work, with the potential for extension. The primary focus of this role will be to oversee the transition from Oracle 18C to 19C, followed by the procurement and implementation of new hardware.

    Responsibilities:

    Oracle Upgrade

    • Lead the migration process from Oracle 18C to 19C across 5 servers.
    • Coordinate system upgrades to ensure all databases are successfully upgraded by the end of June.

    New Hardware Implementation

    • Procure and set up 8 new servers.
    • Oversee the migration of data from the upgraded systems to the new hardware infrastructure.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in Oracle database administration, including version upgrades and server migrations.
    • Familiarity with Oracle 18C and 19C.
    • Ability to manage multiple servers simultaneously.
    • Experience in hardware procurement and setup.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Financial Services Experience or experience in a highly regulated environment preferred
    • Previous experience as an Operational DBA.
    • Experience in building hardware infrastructure.
