SQL Server Database Analyst - Sydney Central Business District, Australia - Mars Recruitment
Description
The role:
- Responsible and accountable for all Database infrastructure throughout the Asia Pacific region.
- Provide primary support to the MS SQL and Oracle Database landscape.
- Provide ongoing monitoring, evaluation, and analysis of the database environments to provide optimum performance.
- Ensure ongoing performance tuning and optimisation to the Database infrastructure.
- Provide regular review, analysis and reporting of current database capacity and forecast mediumlong term growth.
- Define and implement Backup & recovery procedures and ensure regular review, analysis, and reporting of system availability.
- Identify areas for automation enhancements through scripting and scheduling of tasks.
What you will need to succeed:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a DBA.
- Desirable: Prior work experience in banking, financial service, or agricultural industry.
- Knowledge of IT organisation.
- Knowledge in banking / finance operations desirable.
- Previous involvement in projects or system implementation work.
- Shell / batch / Perl / PowerShell scripting knowledge.
Some technical expertise:
- Extensive MSSQL Server (2008 R2, 2012, 2014, 2016) together.
- Oracle (11g, 12c) and Oracle Exadata experience is desirable.
- Database replication technologies (Always On, Database Mirroring, Log Shipping).
- SQL tuning, PL/SQL, Unix, Shell Scripting (all desirable).
- Proven performance tuning skills (especially in a data warehouse environment).
- Linux and Microsoft Windows basic System Administration.
