The Role


The primary purpose of the Data Migration Developer / Analyst role is the design and development of extract, transform and load processes.

This role works closely with the customer to understand their business processes and data needs.

The secondary purpose is to provide support to the business and technology departments to ensure availability of required information and data.

The main objective of this contract is to establish, verify, and maintain reconciliation processes to ensure the accurate migration and transformation of data.

Additionally, the contract aims to map data from the source system to the appropriate target system, ensuring that data values are correctly migrated to their intended locations.


Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities

  • Develop Extract, Transform and Load processes across multiple platforms and manage the professional delivery of business data migration services
  • To be responsible for the quality and timeliness of the deliverables
  • Provide visibility to stakeholders of requirements and progress from initiation to completion, including estimating and scheduling
  • Analyse and document migration process initiatives
  • Prevent problems by understanding system capabilities and limitations
  • Work with Database Administrators to ensure adequate capacity for database and file growth
  • Ensure all data migrations adhere to audit requirements
  • Involvement in database upgrades and migration planning
  • Raise defects as required if blockers are identified Prevent system downtime and performance degradation by design, development and implementation of the necessary administration and maintenance procedures

Experience & Personal Attributes

  • Ideally 24 yrs experience in Superannuation IT industry with good understanding of the underlying databases and extracting, manipulating and loading data. Someone with superannuation administration system database knowledge will be preferable.
  • Strong SQL skills is critical with preferred Oracle background
Experience in Data Migration in a superannuation/pension fund administration environment is preferable like full administration transfer, successor funded transfers.

  • Experience in data mapping is must with good data analysis skills
  • Experience in data reconciliation that involves transferring funds to Link Group aaspire platform. This includes migrating data from one source to another and transforming it as required to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Knowledge of Data cleaning, updating, editing, validation and conversion techniques
  • Database concepts including tables, data types, fields etc, connection strings, records and protocols
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Knowledge of structured programming methodology, data analysis and design skills Must be able to work with mínimal supervision

Nice to have

  • Understanding of Hong Kong based pension products, databases, and business knowledge
  • Excellent organisational and documentation skills Multilingual skills will be handy preferably Mandarin or Cantonese (spoken and written)
