The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of WA (CCIWA) are an independent, not-for-profit organisation that has been the voice of business in WA for over a century and have been powering Apprenticeship Support Australia for over 25 years.

Apprenticeship Support Australia (ASA) are contracted by the Australian Government to deliver Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) services.

Our team provides a range of free advice, information, and support to employers, trainees, and apprentices with the focus on lifting commencement and completion rates.


About the Program

Commencing in July 2023, the traineeship will run over a 12-month period offering a comprehensive overview into the world of Apprenticeship Support Network Services.


Based in our Osborne Park office, this entry-level pathway across a variety of careers will include a combination of formal training, paid employment and support, whilst undertaking a formal qualification.

This year we have three traineeships on offer.

You can choose from one of the following areas of Apprenticeship Support Australia (please ensure you indicate which one when applying):

2 x Trainee Client Support Officer (inbound Call Centre):

Working alongside our Client Support Officers, you will be undertaking administrative tasks rotating throughout the different teams, with tasks including (but not limited to) completing accurate data entry and maintaining relevant databases, completing inbound customer service calls and ensuring the contact schedule is maintained, providing basic advice to clients and other administrative duties as required as you undertake a
Cert III Business - Customer and Client Engagement Stream

1 x Trainee Career Support Officer:

Working alongside our Gateway and Mentor Support Officers, you will be providing support services to employers and job seekers, in both recruitment services and mentoring support, with tasks including (but not limited to) supporting employers to connect with job seekers, providing mentoring support to at risk ASA clients, as well as various admin duties, as you undertake a
Cert IV in Employment Services and Cert IV in Career Development.


Each of these areas include a dedicated supervisor and you will be provided with time within the workday to complete your coursework.


Throughout your traineeship program, you will also be provided with team building activities with your trainee cohorts and your peers, and as an employee of CCIWA, you will be offered the same great staff benefits.

About You
You don't need experience or previous study to be successful - just the motivation to learn new skills and develop your knowledge


Additionally, you must also:

  • Be of Aboriginal Australian and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
  • Have basic computer skills.
  • Be committed to working fulltime to complete a traineeship in an office environment.
If successful in obtaining the position, you will also need to obtain:

  • National Police Clearance.
