At the heart of our business locally, we have over 2,500 passionate employees, working closely and constructively with some 500 Australian farmers to produce the finest dairy products in the country.

This role sits within our strategic business unit (SBU) of Lactalis Australia Exports - our role is to develop and grow our dairy position in the APAC Region


About the Opportunity


Unique opportunity for a senior marketer to head up our International Division with focus on Asia Pacific region, working across diverse dairy portfolios from milk to yoghurt and cheese You will be expected to exercise the full marketing mix in this role.

You are well versed in product development (from ideation to launch) but also comfortable to 'lift and shift' existing global NPD/campaign assets where relevant for your markets.

It is expected you will be comfortable working with multiple factories (in Australia and overseas) and business units (e.g. Lactalis Australia Cheese Division, Lactalis Australia Yoghurts Division etc) to achieve aligned goals


This role will cover many countries of which some of the top ones include: China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and Papua New Guinea.

It is a dynamic role requiring someone who is comfortable working in a fast paced and often times highly ambiguous environment.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead development of annual and multiyear brand growth strategies and business plans for a specified portfolio of brands in APAC to deliver against overall brand vision, business objectives and financial targets.
  • Management alignment with multiple country managers (local markets) on the brand growth plans on an annual basis
  • Assess attractive local consumer opportunities that are currently untapped by the Lactalis by leveraging consumer research, collaborating with functional experts and strong analytics in order to identify new volume and profit growth areas (e.g. new segments/sub categories, new packaging opportunities, new channels of distribution such as e commerce)
  • Partner with internal (e.g. R&D, Supply Chain, Commercial) and external (e.g. customers, suppliers) stakeholders to develop new initiatives and programs to meet consumer needs, deliver against brand strategies and drive business objectives
  • Drive commercialisation of brand positioning, innovation, consumer communications/messaging to deliver brand objectives via clear direction/guidance and effective resource allocation decisions
  • Provide leadership, clear direction to direct report, local marketing support (e.g. trade marketing or distributor marketing team) and external agencies to achieve the business goals.
  • Influence and collaborates with key business partners (e.g. Lactalis Australia, Lactalis International) to ensure plans are aligned and executed to best in class levels.

The following skill sets are critical to this role:

  • Your creative approach and experience leading a team and working with a diverse group of stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Prior experience in marketing FMCG and/or export area is essential. Above all, you will be curious about the Asia Pacific region and building brands/sales in this space.
  • Demonstrated success in stakeholder management, working in a matrix or complex corporate structure and have extensive experience in managing multiple projects whilst providing coaching and support for direct team.
  • Adaptability and sense of urgency we have many markets where regulations, competitive environment can change quite suddenly. Your ability to take the reins and work fluidly is critical to succeed in this role
  • Have a minimum of 35 years in a Management role in a relevant industry or company
  • To be successful you will have recent demonstrated experience preferably within a FMCG or Retail/Sales environment. You will also have excellent time management and organisational skills, a high attention to detail, strong work ethic and a passion for great marketing.
  • Have demonstrated success in working with diverse stakeholders including suppliers, with strong negotiation ability and ability to gain stakeholder buyin.
  • Possess outstanding organisational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to handle conflicting priorities and meet deadlines in a high pressure environment
