An exciting opportunity has become available for a Procurement Category Manager to join our Procurement Team.
The primary purpose of this role is to manage the strategic planning and development across several categories of spend.
This will include the development and execution of category strategies which are aligned to business requirements, supply market analysis, performance requirements, and risk management.
You will have category management experience, from analytics through to planning, sourcing strategies, implementation, and ongoing management.This is a category agnostic role which will support various categories across our Chief Operations Office division, largely comprising construction/infrastructure projects.
You will be responsible for mentoring and coaching a Procurement Specialist. The role provides strategic category and procurement expertise, and where required lead end to end high value sourcing activities.
To be successful in this role you will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or have at least 5 years end-to-end procurement experience having worked as part of a central Strategic Procurement team.
You will also have strong commercial acumen, an understanding of social and sustainable procurement, and the ability to manage, collaborate with and influence stakeholders.
Public sector experience and construction/infrastructure industry procurement experience are preferable, however these are not mandatory requirements for the role.The successful applicant is required to complete a national criminal history check and a pre-employment health declaration.
