A highly reputable multi-disciplinary firm providing Town Planning, Engineering, Surveying, Urban Design and Landscape Architecture services to its A-grade clients, are actively seeking an Associate Town Planner to join their growing team on a permanent basis.


Working within the urban planning department and reporting to the Practice Planning Manager, you will be leading various residential, commercial and industrial developments from large broadacre projects to medium mixed-use infill sites.


You will ideally have a minimum of 8 years' experience with a proven track record in the local market, both in the private and/or public sector.

Your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Liaise with existing and future clients about site development potential and opportunity.
  • Represent clients at VCAT.
  • Conduct the necessary research both in Urban and Regional areas.
  • Remain up to date with planning policy changes and decisions, so you can convey this to clients with confidence.
  • Degree qualification in Urban and Regional Planning, or higher
  • Suitable postgraduate work experience (circa 8+ years)
  • Technical and practical expertise in the Victorian system, ideally in the private sector.
  • A demonstrated, and high level technical competency in statutory planning projects.
  • Ability to work autonomously with limited direction from management ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
  • Experience at VCAT is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Robust report writing skills
