    Details

    : We are seeking a high performing accounting and finance professional who is looking to take the next step in their career as the Finance Partner for the Digital, Data and Technology Solutions (DDTS) Group.

    The Assistant Management Accountant is responsible for providing a range of services and support for DDTS as well as liaising with senior managers and stakeholders from ACT Directorates. The role reports to Assistant Director, Finance Business Partner – Management Reporting and will work closely with the Financial Management and Capital Reporting and Cost Modelling, Pricing and Billing workstreams within DDTS Finance Partners.

    This role involves preparation of financial management reports, managing periodic reconciliations, compiling and analysing large and complex volumes of data, maintaining data analytical and visualisation tools including PowerBI and assisting with TM1 reporting. Additionally, this role is responsible for assisting in the preparation and monitoring of cost centre budgets and forecasts for DDTS as well as providing sound technical accounting support to address and resolve accounting issues related to business requirements.

    We are looking for self-motivated individuals who can absorb information and learn new skills quickly, perform effectively under pressure and excel when given the freedom to deliver on tasks with limited management guidance. The successful applicant will have well developed communication skills, a strong background in accounting and finance management, sound understanding of financial systems and the ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks in collaboration with various stakeholders. This role will suit someone who enjoys a high level of variety or who has a natural affinity with IT, with the role focussed on supporting the ACT Government's complex and constantly evolving IT environment.     Eligibility/ Other Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a finance operations environment will be highly regarded.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a related field along with professional membership or progressing towards CAANZ, CPA or CIMA are desirable.
  • Working knowledge of the Oracle, APAIS, TM1 and Microsoft Power BI systems is desirable.
  • A current ACT Government CMTEDD issued Personnel Vetting Program certificate (Baseline clearance equivalent) is required for this position, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
