Working within the Jetstar Safety and Standards Team, the
Group Safety
Auditor is responsible for the planning and execution of the Jetstar Group Operations Standards assurance program which supports operations, safety and quality outcomes for all Jetstar Branded Airlines including Jetstar Airways in Australia and New Zealand, Jetstar Asia in Singapore and Jetstar Japan in Japan.


Often acting autonomously, this role uses strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with senior management and executive teams to lead risk-based operational and safety systems audits across a broad range of work streams throughout all airlines in the Jetstar Group.

The position also partners with business units and management to provide strategic advice, support and analysis as required.


The core responsibilities of this role are;

  • Coordinating a program of audits of Jetstar's systems of operational and safety management across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Japan
  • Conduct riskbased audits in accordance with approved and contemporary audit methodologies and practices
  • Using safety and risk management expertise to identify organisational risks and deficiencies and to provide timely and effective management recommendations
  • Collecting and analysing data to identify themes, trends and emerging risks from multiple intelligence sources
  • Proactively monitoring, reporting on and escalating as required, the status of open management actions arising from the internal assurance program
  • Designing, developing and presenting structured and informative reports to senior management
  • Facilitating the development, implementation and alignment of industry leading operational and safety management systems and practices across all Jetstar Group airlines

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Lead Auditor qualification
  • Aviation operations experience is highly desirable but not essential
  • Degree in science, aviation, safety or engineering is preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills at a senior level
  • Strong negotiating and conflict resolution skills
  • A lateral thinker with problem solving ability
  • Proven ability to perform under difficult and stressful conditions
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills (minimum Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
