About our Engineering Team
The Jetstar Engineering Team are at the forefront of delivering our superior safety standards.

They are responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of our fleet of aircraft, including completing all required maintenance that must be carried out on time and to approved standards to ensure they take to the skies safely.

At every stage, all maintenance needs to be documented, detailed records maintained, with aircraft parts ordered and available at all times.


As part of our investment in our future, we have launched the Melbourne Engineering Precinct, which is the main maintenance hub of our network.

Our team has the opportunity to work not only on Jetstar fleet, but customer aircraft - A320/21, B717 and A321 Freighter.


About the Opportunity
Reporting to the
Crew Supervisors, responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Support our skilled Engineers with daily duties to enable them to efficiently maintain our aircraft
  • GSE and Tooling support
  • Cleaning duties to ensure our team is working in a clean and safe environment at all times
  • Creating and supporting our team with clear communications and efficient yet prompt completion of tasks
  • Running errands
  • Completing documentation and reporting requirements required for CASA airworthiness and company standards.


This is a fantastic opportunity for those wanting to experience aviation engineering as a potential career path or for those who would like to work in an exciting industry without pursuing a formal education.


To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills & experience:

  • Current Drivers Licence (essential)
  • Prior experience in a workshop / production / mechanical environment in a similar field (advantageous)
  • Willingness to work in a shift work environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within in team
  • Experience working in a role with minimum supervision
  • Ability to interpret written procedures and be able to complete task paperwork
  • A commitment to safety and quality
  • Dependable and reliable
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems
  • Highly motivated with a learning mindset
