Position Information:


Henry Kendall High School is a coeducational comprehensive high school with a student enrolment of approximately 770 students including 50 students in the Special Education Centre and 49 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Henry Kendall High School is located near the CBD of Gosford City.

Selection Criteria:

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,

  • Demonstrated capacity to lead and develop an integrated, dynamic team under a student services model that provides innovative programs for students with additional learning and support needs, including mental health, complex case management, transition, behaviour, disabilities and health.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop the capacity of staff to promote student wellbeing and belonging in every classroom and across the school.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop highly productive partnerships and collaborate with a wide range of external support services, DoE Learning and Wellbeing services, and external providers to support and enhance student wellbeing.
  • Successful experience in contributing to whole school programs that demonstrate a capacity to work positively and cohesively with an executive team focussed on collaborative culture and holistic school improvement.

General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
