Aged Care Sector | Adelaide Location

  • Permanent Full-Time Position | $95,000 + Superannuation + NFP Benefits

The Position
Our client operates within the ever-growing aged sector providing healthcare and aged care services Australia wide.

This Safety & Wellbeing Advisor will be responsible for promoting wellbeing, health, and safety across the business handling their own portfolio of 15 sites based in Adelaide.

This is a highly autonomous role traveling between the office and their South Australia sites, you will be working in a larger team of 11 spread throughout Australia and will report to the Head of Safety based in their Brisbane Head Office.

You will get to work with operational and corporate staff to provide support and advice on safety and risk management across our client's Adelaide locations.

This is a full-time, permanent position, that will require local and occasional interstate travel to Western Australia.

To be successful in this role you will have a proactive approach to safety and wellbeing and enjoy being able to build relationships with stakeholders across the business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits, risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement within the organisation including support in developing site specific risk registers;
  • Work with leaders in the business to undertake investigations to establish root cause, along with preventative and corrective actions;
  • Provision of advice and support to ensure solutions are in line with Legislation, Standards, Codes of Practice and organisational policies and procedures;
  • Design, develop and implement projects, activities and training focused on holistic wellbeing and safety culture.

Skills and Experience

  • Qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or a relevant discipline with three years relevant working experience;
  • Experience in training delivery or internal auditor will come highly regarded;
  • Demonstrated experience with developing, implementing, and monitoring WHS policies, procedures, and safe systems of work;
  • Demonstrated experience with conducting WHS investigations and incident management;
  • Proven ability to provide sound advice and work in consultation with stakeholders and WHS matters;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence, lead, coach and develop others;
  • Strong organisation and time management skills, and have ability to multitask and switch focus to prioritise tasks as required.
