_Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Staff Specialist in Sexual Assault Medicine to join our team at __Royal Prince Alfred Hospital_****_
- **We are looking for a Staff Specialist in Sexual Assault Medicine. The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Sexual Assault Medicine, and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Sexual Assault Medical Service and Hospital as required.
The Staff Specialist will maintain and extend the Department's provision of high-quality medical and forensic care to recent victims of sexual violence (aged 14 years and over).
They will play a leadership role in the establishment, development and delivery of NSW Ministry of Health's Medical and Forensic Clinical Placement and Support Program within SLHD, and in teaching and training for undergraduates, prevocational and advanced medical trainees.
The Staff Specialist will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
The successful applicant will be registered or eligible for specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Faculty of Clinical Forensic Medicine (RCPA), Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine (RACP), Royal Australasian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award with recognised qualifications in Sexual Assault Medicine.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
To be employed by NSW Health, you are required to provide evidence of current immunity status that complies with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy.
