As the Manager Sustainability you will be responsible for developing, leading and overseeing the implementation of sustainability and decarbonisation strategies across Qantas Engineering and operational areas enabling the delivery of Qantas Group's Sustainability Commitments.

You will drive the overarching strategy, development and implementation of sustainability policies and ensuring QA and QE's contribution to the Qantas Group Climate Action Plan and the audacious goals to reduce carbon emissions by 25% by 2030, zero single use plastics by 2027 and zero general waste to landfill by 2030.

You'll have

Tertiary qualification such as bachelor's degree technical/science/engineering/business or equivalent experience.
Experience in a manager position or equivalent is preferable
Strong ability to engage with stakeholders and provide input on all aspects of the sustainability initiatives to assist in focusing and driving the initiatives forward
Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues and to structure them for others to navigate
Superior stakeholder management & influencing skills with the ability to operate effectively at all levels of the business in order to drive program outcomes
Experiencing in presenting to senior stakeholder preferable
Proven project management experience cross function project teams
Ability and confidence to quickly identify key issues, structure a project plan, develop strategic options and deliver project outcomes
Thorough understanding of strategic evaluation and financial evaluation techniques
Experience in leading projects
Strong commercial experience
Demonstrated experience participating in a cross functional team
