Overview:


A successful and established sub-scontractor, who are now in the next phase of their growth plan are looking to add a Contracts Manager to the team.


Currently operating across the Residential & Commercial Construction sectors, specialising within landscapes, Streetscapes and Pools, offering a full D&C turn key solution.


You will be joining a strong & collaborative environment and be working for a stable business, that invests heavily in staff development and new markets.


The Role:


Reporting to the General Manager, the newly created role of Contracts Manager is a key member of the department's leadership team, with the overall responsibility for overseeing the tendering process prior to award, handover and the contracts administration and procurement processes during a live project.


The Commercial Construction Department has been in operation for over 10 years, and this role is supported by a number of industry experts to deliver premium projects to Tier 1 builders as well as working on boutique smaller projects for select clients.


  • In conjunction with the General Manager, own the delivery of the business department strategy
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, builders, subcontractors, suppliers, builder architects and developers.
  • Oversee the estimating function of the commercial construction department to target appropriate opportunities, assess risk on tenders and provide accurate and competitive tender pricing and documentation.
  • Oversee Contract Administrators and project administration staff to deliver commercial construction on time, in budget and in accordance with the contract.
  • Be the point of contact for contract reviews, legislative changes, and any complex legal matters that arise.
  • Review, measure and take accountability for department profitability in all stages of the project lifecycle

About You:


  • Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management/Engineering/Quantity Surveying or similar, along with regular attendance at relevant workshops and seminars to keep abreast of changes to the industry and best practice
  • Dynamic and modern leadership experience, demonstrated in a similar leadership role for a minimum of 2 years
  • A highly effective communicator, recognising the influence verbal and written communication has in contract negotiation and client relations
  • Solutions focused, and have experience in managing complex commercial matters to derive best practice outcomes
  • An individual capable of understanding and delivering the business strategy
