    Manager / Senior Manager, Operational Risk - Consumer with | Ethos BC

    Role Summary: We are collaborating with a leading banking institution in Australia for a significant opportunity within Line 2. This role involves providing expert risk advice to all units in the Consumer/Retail Bank and distribution network. Your Responsibilities:
    • Play a key role as a Senior Manager in risk analytics, strategic advisory, and business partnering with the senior management of the Consumer Bank (Line 1)
    • Develop risk strategies for designated business units on both Business and Group levels
    • Perform detailed reviews of issues, assess risks, and their impacts within the current regulatory framework
    • Contribute to Operational Risk in projects, initiatives, and strategies, ensuring efficient integration into BAU
    • Act as a trusted advisor, enhancing risk culture, offering insights on risks, controls, and trends for continuous improvement in risk management processes
    • Prepare reports for management, actively participate in risk forums and committee meetings
    • Act as the Executive Manager when required
    Skill Requirements:
    • At least 5 years of experience in Operational Risk and/or Compliance within Banking & Financial Services (Line 1 or 2)
    • Proven experience in risk advisory and business partnering, consistently adding value
    • Excellent communication skills to effectively address operational risk issues with senior stakeholders
    • Basic understanding of regulatory environments for Retail Banks (APRA, NCCP Responsible Lending, Privacy Act, AUSTRAC, etc.)
    • Ability to manage workload efficiently, especially in a matrix reporting structure
    • Knowledge of consumer banking products is desirable but not mandatory
