About this opportunity
We are looking for an Advisor, Safety Management System, reporting to the Manager, Governance


This role involves:

  • Supporting the Manager, Governance with development and implementation of the Yarra Trams Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Facilitating the annual review of the SMS, including identification and monitoring of actions for improvement
  • Periodical reporting on safety governance and performance to a range of stakeholders
  • Arranging and facilitating OH&S and risk governance meetings and managing associated documentation
  • Consultation and engagement with business representatives to support implementation of the SMS
  • Working with SMS document owners to review and update relevant documentation
  • Supporting the wider safety team with relevant tasks such as audits, investigations and working groups

About you

Ideally you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications in engineering, law, risk management, safety, or equivalent discipline
  • Familiarity with the transport industry or similar safetyfocused environment
  • Experience in undertaking consultation with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, audits, and task observations
  • Experience in assessing and ensuring compliance with legislation or standards
  • Excellent document development and report writing skills
