_Please note this is a12 month contract/secondment _**We are building tomorrow's bank today.

The Chief Operations Office keeps the Bank running and powers our customer obsession.

We process and execute the majority of all processes across the Bank supporting the Retail, Business, CommSec, Institutional businesses with banking, lending and markets operations, along with running regulatory operations and Group regulatory projects.


The Pace Transformation team sits within the Chief Operations Office and is responsible for design and governance of the Group-wide roll out of Pace.

Pace is a way of working that improves the way we think, plan and work so we can get things done better, sooner and safer.

The team partners with Business and Support Units and program work streams that enable us to implement, deliver, embed and iterate our ways of working across the Group.


This role reports to the General Manager of Pace Governance and leads delivery of related outcomes and associated organisational changes to achieve program objectives.


On any given day you will

  • Leads and manages large and/or complex programs of work throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Leads cross functional organisational delivery teams and multivendor teams to achieve program deliverables whilst monitoring and managing interdependencies.
  • Breaks down complexity into manageable, value driven deliverables whilst maintaining a high degree of collaboration and transparency with an ongoing focus on continuous improvement and realising value.
  • Effectively manages relationships with senior stakeholders and provides leadership of business change.
  • Engages and facilitates quality decision making with senior stakeholders and/or third parties.
  • Anticipates, identifies and resolves risks and issues, escalating as required.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports for Management and other program and governance groups.
  • Ensure solutions and deliverables are aligned with Group process, methodologies and governance.

We're interested in hearing from people who have

  • Program/project management and Agile delivery experience.
  • Experience working in and driving outcomes in large transformational programs.
  • Ability to building effective, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders in complex scenarios.
  • Knowledge of project/Agile metrics, from creation to gathering, reporting, trend analysis and embedding.
  • Knowledge of planning/performance frameworks with experience developing and implementing new frameworks.
  • Highly developed leadership, people and communications skills.
  • Proficient in portfolio management and work management tools, including JIRA, Confluence and Planview products.
