Analytics Lead ( SQL / Tableau )

Sydney / Remote (Hybrid)

$150-180k base plus 15% bonus and super

Analytics Lead ( SQL / Tableau ) is required to join a leading Australian organisation who are at a very exciting stage in their data driven journey and have recently established a Data & Analytics Centre of Excellence.


This role will partner with business teams and other analytics functions embedded within business units to identify and understand challenges, then develop data and analytics use cases to address them.


This role will serve as a strategic advisor to key stakeholders and will be the voice of the business to cross functional delivery teams within the CofE, which is made up of Data Science, Visualisation, Data Engineering and Governance subsidiaries.

The

Analytics Lead ( SQL / Tableau ) will deliver business use cases, ensure value relaisation and champion adoption throughout the business. You will prefer action over academic perfection and will serve all parts of the organisation, covering a variety of business units, products and customer segments.

This role would suit an experienced Data Analytics professional or a Data consultant who can also roll their sleeves up and be hands on - not forgetting the passion for all things Data

Roles and responsibilities for the

Analytics Lead ( SQL / Tableau ) include:

  • Develop and build close partnerships with business leaders and other analytics teams embedded within business units, acting as an initial point of contact that represents the CoE.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to fully understand business problems and requirements. Effectively communicate the team's complex work, insights and recommendations to both technical and nontechnical audiences, both verbally and in written form.
  • Identify and holistically understand business challenges and highest value opportunities through structured approaches with business teams. Collaboratively develop data and analytics requirements to solve these challenges, including developing customised analytics roadmaps by business unit.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to business leaders recommending datafirst solutions, providing guidance on what is and what is not possible.
  • Champion awareness and advocacy of analytics, in part through clearly and concisely explaining analytics approaches and techniques to nontechnical audiences.
  • Guide crossfunctional teams to deliver prioritised use cases, ensure value realisation, and champion adoption. These "squadstyle" teams are composed of other functions in the CoE (Data Science, Data Visualisation, Data Engineering and Data Governance) as well as team members from the respective business unit.
  • Develop and build partnerships with all other leaders in the CoE (Data Science, Data / ML Engineering, Data Visualisation, and Data Governance & Enablement).
  • Promote an analytics culture that focuses on driving value, especially "last mile execution" with a priority for action
  • Support an innovative and collaborative culture within your team and the Data and Analytics CoE.

Essential skills for the

Analytics Lead ( SQL / Tableau ) include:

  • Track record of leading high-impact, cross-functional projects from ideation to strategy and implementation.
  • Ability to manage and deliver multiple endtoend projects and ongoing work simultaneously with autonomy.
  • Strong planning and organisation skills.
  • Capability to develop actionable, valueadd insights from complex data, and then clearly and effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) those insights to nontechnical audiences to drive business impact.
  • Experience developing relationships and partnering with multiple business and technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent business acumen and judgment.
  • Natural curiosity and a strong motivation to solve problems, no matter how complicated or ambiguous they might be.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, a fastpaced environment, and shifting priorities.
  • University degree in a relevant discipline, such as computer, business/ commerce, statistics, or equivalent experience.
