An exciting opportunity exists for an Assistant Director Social Work, who will assist to provide high level leadership, strategic direction, professional governance and workforce planning in the management and delivery of Social Work services.

This role reports to the Director of Social Work and assists in the professional and strategic management of the Social Work and Chaplaincy Service across the SCHHS.


Key Responsibilities include:

This position reports operationally and professionally to the Director of Social Work. Collaborating and consulting with the Director regarding planning, co-ordination and integration of Social Work services across the SCHHS.

Assist the Director of Social Work to operationally and professionally manage, lead and coordinate (in consultation with other key stakeholders) the Social Work staff working across the SCHHS


Assist the Director of Social Work as delegated in operational and resource management and as delegated be accountable for the administration, direction and control of asset and financial responsibilities of Social Work within the AH-SDM.

To ensure the delivery of services in accordance with professional standards and district planning with mínimal supervision.


Review Social Work clinical practices, procedures and processes, identifying areas for improvement, and lead the development and implementation of initiatives in collaboration with relevant stakeholders that enhance service delivery and support the continuum of care.

Assist the Director to ensure these reviews occur for Social Work.
