About the role:

As the successful applicant, you will provide administration support in the Student Services team at the Victoria Police Academy.

This role is responsible for delivering a high level of customer service to a range of stakeholders including students of policing, police members, Protective Services Officers, Police Custody Officers and Victorian Public Service employees.

The Student Services Unit is responsible for maintaining student records; coordinating milestone events for students of policing, Protective Services Officers and Police Custody Officers; and providing course materials.

This position will report to the Student Services Team Leader and will be part of a small team.

Your duties will include:


  • Provide administrative support including data entry, records management, preparation and distribution of reports/correspondence.
  • Assist with the printing of course materials for students.
  • Present information sessions to students in training and provide tours of the Academy.
  • Prepare, manage, and coordinate events and ceremonies such as inductions, graduations, swearing in ceremonies, cap badge presentations and end of service ceremonies.
  • Liaise with and provide information to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reception duties as required

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Administrative experience including data entry, records management and the preparation of documents/reports.
  • Event coordination experience.
  • Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to adapt to and learn new software programs.
  • Organisational and problemsolving skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people and present information to groups of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal appropriately with sensitive and highly confidential information and issues.
  • Ability to work successfully within a team environment, while also working independently when required

Requirements and relevant information:


  • One (1) x ongoing parttime (0.8 FTE) position and two (2) ongoing fulltime positions available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Academy, 1 View Mount Road, Glen Waverley.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
