About the role:

The Purchase Unit is a newly created team within the Business Support Division, Operational Infrastructure Department, Victoria Police.

This Division is a centralised service delivery area, responsible for providing business management, finance, procurement, HR, compliance, innovation, and supports Senior Management across Facilities, Equipment and Fleet and Operational Support Divisions.

The Purchase Unit has an exciting opportunity for one (1) x full-time ongoing position and one (1) x full time fixed term position for highly motivated self-starters to help set up this team and provide quality and timely finance assistance across the four Divisions that make up the Operational Infrastructure Department.

Your duties will include:


  • Creating Purchase Orders within Oracle under a centralised model, supporting the Department
  • Assisting with general Purchase Order queries including making amendments as required
  • Assisting with general invoice queries including regular checks of Kofax
  • Assisting with Expenditure Transfer's for Department
  • Data gathering for various internal analysis projects
  • Assisting with maintaining Utility Rooms and regular ordering of stationery

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Knowledge of financial processes is helpful, but not required
  • Proven and welldeveloped data entry skills with capacity to deliver and maintain systems with a high attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills, demonstrating the ability to multitask and prioritise while adhering to strict timelines
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of personnel
  • Proven ability to work with limited supervision and/or within a team environment

Requirements and relevant information:


  • One (1) x fulltime ongoing position and one (1) x full time fixed term until 12/07/2024 position available.
  • These positions are located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
