ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Deputy Principal, the
Performing Arts Teacher will involve delivering both a theoretical and applied skills development components.

The role of Performing Arts Teacher will include but is not limited to:

Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of developmentally appropriate Performing Arts curricular, suited to learning personal skills that enhance students' sense of self-worth and independence
Be responsible for all aspects of the planning, preparation and delivery of effective learning and teaching programs across the strands of Performing Arts.
Have a high level of knowledge and understanding of contemporary technologies. A sound knowledge of equipment and the skills required to work with them. Be able to teach across a range of disciplines as part of the Performing Arts curriculum. Willingness to contribute to the development of emerging technologies. A high level of safety and attention to detail
Prepare, organise, manage and deliver the School's annual musical production.
Promote active student participation in the Performing Arts.
Select appropriate performances consistent with School values.
Organise a calendar of events and opportunities for Performing Arts.
And other duties as requested

Qualifications

Current Full VIT Registration
Degree qualification(s) consistent with the role
Post graduate Special Education qualification (desirable)

Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of Special Education principles, theories and assessment.
Knowledge of differentiated instruction.
Ability to maintain compliance with all Federal and State Regulations regarding the education of students with disabilities.
Ability to organise and coordinate work.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
Ability to engage in selfevaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with peers and colleagues.
Adhere to a high level of professional and ethical standards
Strong organisational, communications, and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with contemporary teaching practice specifically for those students who have learning disabilities.
