Description

The Uniting Church's Congregation at Coomera in the rapidly-growing northern Gold Coast corridor seeks a ministry agent to guide and energise an integrated vision of church and community.

With the 2018 amalgamation of one of the longest-established Congregations in the Gold Coast (Coomera) with one of the newest (the Pacific Pines church plant from Newlife Robina) to create Uniting North Coomera, a vision has emerged to establish a vibrant Congregation on the riverside at Coomera, which is both community and mission-focused.

The church's Op Shop has relocated onto the site as part of a precinct redevelopment, with two adjacent Uniting Church community service facilities.

The combined presence of church and Op Shop in one location has created a community meeting place, a space to gather and share stories to express love and care through our relationship with Jesus.

Uniting North Coomera seeks to call a minister with passion, energy, vision, and a heart to see people enter into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

The person should have a strong commitment to providing worship, pastoral oversight, and intentional missional leadership across the church Congregation and the employees, volunteers and customers of the Op Shop.

The role will cultivate a growing, energised church and Op Shop by offering leadership, pastoral support, discipleship and strategic enthusiasm, thus enabling the Congregation to offer hope and vitality to the Coomera community.

Key responsibilities cover preaching, teaching, sacramental leadership, pastoral care, strategic leadership and missional engagement of Uniting North Coomera and being engaged with the property redevelopment.

This position is full-time, but a lower FTE may be considered.

As this is an exciting and visionary developmental journey, a financial review will be undertaken towards the end of the 2nd year to re-assess ministry needs and resourcing capacity.

Applications close at 5:00 pm Monday, 16 January 2023.
