About the role
The Central Allocations Unit (CAU) has a vacancy for a casual Allocations Clerk. This position has the capacity to be a work from home position with some requirement for working on site. Initial training for the role will be completed on site.

The successful applicant will be part of a small supportive team and be required to cover departmental leave requirements. Shift times for leave coverage will be 6.00am - 2.30pm or 2.15pm - 9.00pm.


Your duties will include administrative and clerical responsibilities to ensure all staffing deficits across the organisation are replaced with supplementary staff.

This role is integral to the smooth functioning of Grampians Health Ballarat as you will be a main point of contact for the Central Allocations Unit and responsible for filling staff deficits.


Your communication and interpersonal skills will be of the highest standard, including the ability to identify and problem solve constructively.

High level computer skills are essential for this role, with particular emphasis on your ability to multi task and work in a fast pace environment.

You will be required to provide 2 referees that are direct managers / supervisors (including your current employer).


Key Responsibilities

  • Filling a variety of staffing deficits across the organisation
  • Ability to identify and problem solve constructively
  • Regular communication with key stakeholders and the Central Allocations Unit Team
  • Ad hoc administration / clerical requirements
  • Ability to work effectively autonomously with mínimal supervision
  • Maintaining privacy and confidentiality

Skills and experience

  • Previous experience in an allocations or help desk environment is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience using computers / software programs.
  • Ability to multi task and work in a fast pace environment by effectively managing one's time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
  • Ability to maintaining stable performance under pressure / handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and to the organisation.
  • Maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment
  • Demonstrated organisational, planning and prioritising skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member and maintain good working relationships
