The opportunity
Our client is a community focused federal government agency.

They have an exciting opportunity available for multiple Project Officers to join the Claims & Payments Branch in assisting with the strategic planning and implementation of transformation initiatives to increase payments and claims quality, efficiency, controls, correctness and outcomes in support of the Corporate Plan.


The team is responsible for reviewing and evaluating current claims and payments processes and controls and determining and implementing improvement.

It is also responsible for ensuring claims and payments processes are optimally included in the base platform build of new CRM Software, future enhancements are included on the backlog and that the implementation of the new platform is implemented in a planned, controlled and consultative manner.

Labour Hire hourly rate contract spanning 12 months with the opportunity to extend.

APS6 level role paying an hourly rate of $60.26 per hour + Superannuation, to be based out of our client's Geelong location.


About the role


The APS6 Project Officer will be responsible for providing a broad range of support in the implementation of a series of transformation projects and change programs in conjunction with the development and management of regular action plans.


The position will work independently to meet work area priorities and manage workflows, providing input to the development of strategies and evaluating business outcomes whilst keeping key stakeholders informed of issues affecting policy and processes.


Responsibilities will include

  • Developing detailed work plans that define and coordinate the ongoing work program and change and transformation agenda across various portfolios of the branch
  • Undertaking research and analysis activities for development of key projects within the branch
  • Communicating to key stakeholders with timely advice for status updates and issues affecting projects
  • Providing advice and support to stakeholders in relation to agency policies, procedures, systems and documentation to ensure requirements are met
  • Supporting the development of project management methodologies and processes
  • Developing accessible and relevant metrics, reporting and performance indicators including services and projects, variations and the impact on the change agenda
  • Contributing to the development and ongoing review of policies procedures and guidelines documents
  • Identifying and contributing to system and process improvements, focusing on delivering high quality and timely resolution of payment enquiries
  • Providing input into the preparation of advice, including briefs and correspondence
  • Working to reduce instances of noncompliance and undertaking process remediation across the branch
