Description


We are looking for a new Manager Insurance Compliance to manage the creation, implementation, and upkeep of our compliance policies and practices.


This is a line 2 risk/compliance position and involves close collaboration with our line 1 risk functions and is evidenced by several actions, including developing policies and systems for compliance advisory, leading challenge and assurance of compliance decisions, improving compliance processes, utilising tools for accurate reporting, and offering training for the successful embedment of any new compliance policies and governance/regulatory directives.


We are looking for a strong people leader, who can take their team on a journey to build trust and deliver strong achievements from a compliance perspective.


About the role:

  • Lead and coach team members to develop capability, build high performing, collaborative and engaged teams, enabled by robust talent development plans and balanced performance priorities
  • Design, document, implement, maintain and embed compliance policies, procedures, processes and tools, and support the development and delivery of training and communication to raise awareness and understanding of requirements.
  • Review processes, controls, monitoring and assurance arrangements, providing constructive challenge and escalation to report on issues as necessary.
  • Support our insurance business in driving accountability in the identification and management of compliance risk, including reporting, management and remediation of compliance incidents/breaches.
  • Collaborate with the insurance Risk & Compliance teams to implement the Compliance Framework to facilitate compliance with relevant legislation regulations, codes and organisational standards.
  • Engage internal stakeholders as required to drive the crossfunctional implementation of our Compliance Framework including compliance policies and procedures.

About you:

  • Robust experience within a compliance, risk role within a complex, matrixed financial services or insurance organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in process and management control design combined with the expert ability to understand operational and compliance risks inherent or emerging in a business area.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing the level of risk and in developing and executing plans to mitigate risk.
  • Highly developed analytical skills, demonstrating the capability to analyse and interpret complex information from a broad range of sources (locally and internationally) and to present findings in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence, positively influencing risk behaviours
  • Strong people leadership ability to build trust with ease and guide a team to be effective through collaboration.
