This is a senior position within an exciting, flexible and friendly work environment, requiring a skilled and passionate communications all-rounder who knows how to be heard.

Consumer Protection WA is trusted and respected across the state and is seeking an innovative, experienced specialist to drive the critical elements of campaign development and public engagement.

The role

The Manager Strategic Communications will have demonstrated experience leading a high performing team, developing and implementing communications strategy, creating content and building stakeholder relationships.

The successful candidate will be part of the Community and Media Engagement team that connects Consumer Protection with the WA public through community and social media education, presentations and events, and media relations.

Proven ability to think tactically and logically, work collaboratively and manage multiple projects is crucial to the role's success. Excellent writing and editing skills are also necessary, including the ability to convert detailed policy into simple, engaging messaging.

The Manager Strategic Communications will oversee a team of six and will also work closely with the General Manager, including in operational planning, managing day-to-day activities, as well as liaising with internal executives and external stakeholders.

This position is located in Perth , at 140 William Street and includes work-from-home availability.

While this process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) for the next 12 months.
