6 month contract, possible extension

$65.68 p/h plus super

Perth CBD


This role leads the digital, social media and campaigns functions within the Media and Corporate Communications team and provides strategic advice on these activities including the design, development and implementation of digital communications, social media programs and campaigns that promote the department's objectives.


DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS, SOCIAL MEDIA AND CAMPAIGNS

  • Develops and monitors the Department's digital communications policies, procedures, guidelines, strategy and frameworks.
  • Drives evidencebased innovation and best practice in digital communications to support and enhance the delivery of operational and corporate business requirements.
  • Effectively manages the delivery of strategic digital communication projects.
  • Keeps abreast of new and emerging digital communications and social media tools that support the organisation's communications and operations.
  • Prepares highlevel complex written reports and other correspondence related to the digital communications function.
  • Provides advice and consultancy to senior management and staff on the delivery of high quality, creative, appropriate and timely digital communications and social media opportunities, responses and solutions.
  • Manages, negotiates and monitors contracts for the provision of services and/or products which support and enable the delivery of digital communications and social media.
  • Manages the development, implementation and evaluation of the organisation's digital communications and social media channels.
  • Identifies and assesses risks and issues and develops timely and appropriate risk management strategies.
  • Develops, implements and monitors external communication campaigns to enhance and promote awareness of the department's objectives.

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

  • Builds effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to identify target audiences, business requirements and processes suitable for delivery via digital communications and social media.
  • Develops and maintains senior level relationships as well as an extensive network of contacts with key stakeholders and client groups, including volunteer services.

SECTION MANAGEMENT

  • Manages staff performance and supports the development of both individual and team capabilities.
  • Oversees and leads the development, implementation, management and evaluation of the Department's digital communications function.
  • Fosters a creative team environment that develops new approaches and innovative solutions to complex issues.

Core Competencies:


  • Demonstrated significant experience in managing innovative strategic communications projects and initiatives (preferably within a digital communication/social media environment).
  • Ability to influence and provide strategic advice and consultancy at a senior level on strategic communications initiatives.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills including the ability to consult; negotiate and engage.
  • Proven high level conceptual, analytical and problemsolving ability.
  • Experience in managing teams to achieve outcomes.
  • Brand management experience.
**_NB: A current National Police Clearance will be required prior to commencement for this role._
