About the role

The Community Engagement Officer supports the work of the Community Engagement team with the projects, programs and activities they run to support Council strategies, business plans and objectives.

Day-to-day duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide high-quality and valued support to Council's Community Engagement team to assist the effective and efficient implementation of Council's community engagement activities.
  • Ensure Council's community engagement activities, programs and events are effectively planned and implemented in accordance with Council's policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate bookings for community engagement activities, including venue bookings and online ticketing where necessary.
  • Provide event management for Glen Eirarun stalls at key local events.
  • Ensure Customer Service team is kept up to date with current community engagements through regular liaison with the Customer Service team.

About you

You have a demonstrated commitment and adherence to organisational values and behaviours, as well as demonstrated experience working in the field of community engagement, or event management, or administration, or experience in the use of digital platforms.


The following is also required:

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline plus experience OR less formal qualifications with relevant experience.
  • Ability to work as part of a professional team.
  • Enthusiastic, positive, committed, innovative and proactive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal office hours.
