Your Role at St John of God Health Care Mt Lawley Hospital

You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical occupational therapy services to clients/patients using evidence based clinical practice skills, ensuring practice is in accordance to Occupational Therapy Australia Code of Ethics and SJGHC policies and guidelines.

The Position

Provide direct occupational therapy services to clients/patients and or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and outpatients. Completion of comprehensive patient assessment (e.g. assessment of personal care, domestic and community ADLs, assessment of the home environment, cognitive and functional physical assessment as required).
Provision of a comprehensive treatment intervention and appropriate progression treatment to match functional goals.
Coordinate the provision of special aids and equipment requirements of patients if required to assist with functioning
Provide consultation and support to medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the Division as appropriate.
Responsible for completing appropriate administrative duties arising from each session instructed. This requires liaison with the office administration team, reporting of statistical data and completion of clinical documentation.
Supervise, instruct and assess students in approved clinical teaching programs in liaison with the Supervisor/Manager.

You will have demonstrated knowledge and skills in assessment, treatment and evaluation within Occupational Therapy practice, effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Successful applicants will hold a tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and a valid C class driver's licence.

We can offer you

Salary: $79,823.00 to $112,259.00 per annum + 11% superannuation
Casual hourly rate: $40.26 – 56.62 per hour + 11% superannuation
Full-time position, working 76 hours per fortnight and casual positions available
