About the role


Are you ready to take the next step in your Liability Claims career? Looking to get involved in complex liability matters? Our Liability Claims Consultant role has everything you are looking for with exposure to all liability lines including the opportunity to work directly with underwriters from Lloyd's of London.


Gallagher Bassett is looking for a Claims Consultant with exposure to General Insurance who is looking to solidify their career within our Global Brand.

This position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis with a flexible hybrid working approach of a minimum of 1 day per week in our Brisbane CBD office.


Responsibilities:


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Managing a portfolio of liability claims end to end, from a General Liability perspective.
  • Providing advice to insured clients on indemnity, liability, quantum, reserving and settlement.
  • Liaising with various thirdparty providers including solicitors, loss adjusters, brokers and barristers
  • Settling claims within client service instructions, company guidelines and delegated authority
  • Resolving complaints in accordance with company guidelines and identifying potential fraud/recovery indicators for claims where applicable

Qualifications:

We're interested in hearing from people who possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of Claims experience in public liability and/or professional indemnity claims management
  • Experience in handling medical malpractice claims is desirable but not essential.
  • Industry specific ANZIIF qualifications (desirable) with a strong exposure to claims involving Third Party Liability
  • Flexibility and receptivity to change.
  • Focus on customer / client relationships.
  • Excellent; customer service, communication, time management, organisation and interpersonal skills


  • PC literacy

  • Database and Microsoft Office
