About us


headspace provides mental health support to young people aged , with a range of services available for young people experiencing, or at risk of developing, psychosis.

All of our services are driven by person centred care, with a strong focus on functional recovery, youth specific interventions and support from peers who have experienced the same or similar challenges.

These roles will be based in Southport and Upper Coomera.

About the role


We are looking for a values driven individual to be part of the administration team which will provide first point of contact for young people and their families to headspace.

This will support a smooth transition through the service and providing administrative support to the teams and providers at headspace Southport and headspace Upper Coomera.

You will join a collaborative, enthusiastic team and report to a supportive team leader.


_You will thrive in this opportunity to: _

  • Greet all young people, their families, collocated services and visitors, whether in person or via electronic means, in a friendly, timely and courteous manner.
  • Support private practitioners at headspace to complete all receptions tasks in relation to providing services to clients
  • Assist in capturing client information in relevant headspace databases
  • Manage the switchboard including answering and/or redirect inquiries as appropriate
  • Assist in ensuring the smooth flow of young people, their families, collocated services and visitors


This is a part-time position working 3 days per week for four months initially, with a high probability of increasing to 4 or 5 days per week.

The role will cover shifts at both Southport and Upper Coomera sites.

The position works between Monday to Friday each week. The hourly rate for this role is $30.46 hour plus superannuation.


About you
You are an approachable, engaging individual and you will demonstrate a passion to client service delivery.

Your understanding of the issues which impact our client bases, along with maintaining professional working relationships will ensure success in the role.


You will also demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience in Medical reception which includes Medicare billing and batching.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with members of the public and a diverse range of health and community service providers.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to gain knowledge of, relevant administrative/clerical procedures, including computerised database packages and filing systems.
  • Ability to use initiative and operate with mínimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
