NSW Health Pathology is currently seeking a passionate and motivated Pathology Collections Trainer to support our Blood Collections teams across our South Eastern Sydney LHD Hospitals.

What you'll be doing


The incumbent will be an integral part of the Collections team and be responsible for managing the training, assessments and competencies of Collection staff in the Pathology Collection services throughout NSWHP - South area.

The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of staffs' training required by Collector's, in order to perform their daily duties within the Pathology Collection service.


  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or extensive hospital based collections experience
  • Expertise and experience in performing heel pricks and venipuncture on infants, children and adults
  • Demonstrated experience in training and assessment
  • Customer focused approach displaying welldeveloped interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with clients, patients and clinical staff
  • Good computer skills including proficient use of Microsoft office suite and familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with a commitment to the NSW Health Pathology RITE values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence
  • Current unencumbered drivers license valid for NSW with own car as travel to various locations will be required

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
