About the Role:
Reporting to the Specialist Homelessness Services Manager, the Housing Support Unit (HSU) Team Leader is responsible for working in partnership with the HSU unit team members and our Executive Director Community Services for the strategic development, and effective and efficient delivery, of housing and social inclusion programs of YWCA Canberra, in accordance with the vision, values and polices of the organisation.
You will lead the Supportive Tenancy Services and Next Door, Older women's program to continue to deliver high quality services.
Based at our central office, you will work within strengths-based, gender and trauma-informed practice frameworks and will lead a team of dedicated and experienced Case Managers to ensure best practice.
About You:
The role requires excellent organisation and coordination skills and the ability to manage a range of stakeholders
You will therefore have:
- A minimum Diploma of Community Services or equivalent. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as social work, psychology or human services strongly desirable
- Experience working effectively with vulnerable and disadvantaged people.
- Experience working with older women experiencing or at risk of homelessness within a strengthsbased, gender and trauma informed personcentred framework strongly desirable.
- Experience and/or understanding of Tenancy Management issues.
- Experience and/or the ability to work competently with older women, including nonbinary, female identifying, from diverse backgrounds including Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and LQBTQIA+.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting older women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
- Demonstrated understanding of human resources management and experience in the supervision and support of staff including development of workplans, personal development plans and performance management systems and achievement of individual and team KPIs.
- Extensive stakeholder engagement and relationship management experience.
