About the Role

The Executive Assistant provides high level executive and administrative support to the Conservatorium Director, enabling them to function effectively across a wide range of strategic commitments.

They are the first point of call for Conservatorium and University academics, professional staff and external stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide executive administrative support and diary management to the Conservatorium Director to ensure efficient running of the day to day activities within the Conservatorium office.
  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with academic staff in the Conservatorium, the Faculty and shared services across the University to ensure the efficient delivery of administrative services.
  • Engage with individuals at all levels across the University and externally, with the confidence and ability to deal with a variety of queries and issues as a primary point of contact.
  • Establish and maintain processes and procedures to coordinate the workflow of the Conservatorium office and ensure continuous improvement and review to meet requirements.

Who We Are Looking For

We're looking for people who are highly organised, professional and responsive to the changing needs of a busy work environment.

Advanced interpersonal skills will assist you to build and maintain productive relationships.


You will also have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and experience, or a combination of relevant experience and education/training. It is highly desirable to have experience within the music or arts sectors or a background in music or the arts.
  • Outstanding organisational skills and ability to respond to competing demands, to prioritise and selfmanage, be adaptive to change, and diligence in meeting objectives and progressing work autonomously.
  • Outstanding communication skills, in particular accuracy and attention to detail, diplomacy, tact, and clarity.

Your New Team - Faculty of Fine Arts and Music Office

The Executive Assistant is a member of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music office that manage and coordinate the administrative and executive support functions of the executive team within the Faculty.

The role is supervised by the Executive Officer, however work priorities and day to day direction is provided by the Conservatorium Director.

As a member of the faculty office team, you contribute to and collaborate on opportunities to improve and coordinate practices within the Faculty and within the Conservatorium.

You will work collaboratively with the Conservatorium Business Manager in supporting the priorities of the Director and the operations of the Conservatorium.
