the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 202- To ensure the successful operational delivery of the ninth edition of this competition, we have set up a Local FIFA Subsidiary (LFS).

Its aim is to improve the experience of over 1.1 billion people watching the FIFA Women's World Cup, by delivering innovative solutions across all operational areas.

Venue Overlay Manager

Job responsibilities

  • Based in Perth, the Venue Overlay Manager
  • Perth has the responsibility, under the guidance of the Technical Services & Overlay Senior Manager New Zealand and working closely with both local and International based FIFA teams, for the successful delivery of all FWWC2023 infrastructure requirements specific to their assigned venue.
    Job duties
  • Lead the delivery of the Overlay and Technical Services program across the Perth venue including design review, delivery planning and programming and design compliance.
  • Responsible for site based delivery including supplier management, stadium liaison, cost and safety documentation review and approval. Lead the successful handover and handback of all defined venue(s).
  • Provide Contract Management and Administration support to the Overlay and Technical Services Senior Manager including supplier engagement.
  • Help to ensure specifications, space and area allocations are delivered in accordance with the FWWC requirements and are fit for purpose.
  • Internal department liaison to develop and subsequently manage department scope and cost control via change management processes.
  • Participate in regular review meetings to discuss the delivery and readiness of FWWC2023 with all external and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications & experience

The successful applicant will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a Management role in Construction, Overlay or Technical Services, preferably in international sports events.

Direct experience with high-value procurement processes, cost and contract management. Experience in dealing with government and official agencies responsible for statutory and licensing issues, and technical regulation.

  • Additionally:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or engineering field, or master trade / vocational qualifications with practical experience.
  • Contract management experience
  • Project management qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Direct experience in one or more of the following groups, including temporary infrastructure:

Construction and design:

  • Contract management
  • Construction planning and project management
  • Temporary buildings and structures (tents, cabins, bridges, platforms etc.)
  • Event and exhibitionstyle fit out
  • Building certification / technical control

Energy / MEP:

  • Temporary Power
  • Temporary Heating, Ventilation and Cooling (HVAC)
  • Plumbing: temporary water, waste, and sanitation
  • Cabling and containment
