About the role
The Cardiology Service at Ipswich hospital provides advanced Cardiology care and cardiac diagnostics to patients within West Moreton Health. The Cardiology Service works cohesively across the specialities within the Division of Medicine.

Cardiac diagnostics provided include transthoracic echo (inclusive of GLS and 3D), Transoesophageal echo, Stress echo, Cardiac CT and cardiac MRI.

Holter, BP monitors, Exercise stress tests.

An onsite cardiac cath lab has recently been commissioned - providing inpatient and outpatient angiography with a view to progressing to percutaneous coronary intervention in 2023.

Expansion of electrophysiology services is also a priority for the service with the potential for device implantation.

Several general cardiology outpatient clinics, outpatient heart failure and cardiac rehabilitation services are supported by specialist nurses integrating inpatient and outpatient care.

The WMHHS Better Cardiac Care Service supports outreach clinics in Boonah, Gatton and Esk and coordination of care for vulnerable patients.

About you

  • Commitment to the principles of quality in health care including leading initiatives relating to quality improvement, research, risk management. service evaluation and strategic service delivery planning.
Results

  • Extensive clinical experience with appropriate knowledge and skills extending across the range of Cardiology disciplines, with an ability to deliver quality specialty care to patients in a clinical setting including directing the process of assessment, admission, ongoing care. transfer and discharge of patients.
  • Contribute to the establishment and fostering of relationships within the Cardiology Service and across the medical specialties of the Division of Medicine, between the Department and other Hospital and Health Service departments and services to ensure the continuum of care for the patient.

  • Enables collaboration and enhances connectivity in the provision of a Cardiology Service within a multi disciplinary team by demonstrating effective communication and promoting understanding, respect and trust between different groups and professions

Mandatory Requirements:


  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/1
