Job Description:


Toll Group Chemicals division is searching for a career driven Transport Team Leader to oversee supervision of all transportation activities at our Major Hazard Facility in Lytton.

You will be responsible to direct, co-ordinate, supervise and achieve service objectives with regard to the local cartage, ensuring that tasks are completed in the most efficient manner with agreed standards in operational procedures including strong emphasis on safety requirements.


This is an entry level role, designed for someone with a transport or operational background to take their first step into a management career path, with genuine succession planning and big projects happening on site over the next decade.


As the Transport Team Leader, you will:

  • Effective and efficient allocation of company and subcontractor assets to maximise the return to the business
  • Instruct drivers as to what must be loaded, as well as safe and secure methods of accomplishing loading in an efficient and effective manner
  • Monitor pickups and deliveries ensuring customers and relevant personnel are promptly advised of inability to achieve planned requirements
  • Ensure the appropriate equipment is available and in good order and condition
  • Actively participate in the rollout of toolbox meetings and other communications to workers and contractors

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in Transport/Logistics industry within a similar role
  • Good geographical knowledge of the greater Brisbane area
  • Strong problem solving and forward planning abilities
  • Customer service skills, a positive cando attitude with very strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Have the ability to work well in a fastpaced environment
  • Work collaboratively, cooperatively, with strong integrity and initiative
  • Excellent and Proven MS Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
