The Position


The General Manager People & Culture will provide leadership to the Hive & Wellness organisation, delivering advice and executive management to the organisation in all things employee and industrial relations, organisational structure, strategy, acquisition and culture.

This is a true generalist role, with key focus areas on culture and leadership, people and culture operations, and organisational and capability development.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will manage a Human Resources Business Partner and a Training Officer, and work closely with the Workplace Health & Safety Manager and their team.

The role will have visibility and direct impact on the entire business, playing a significant part in the Hive + Wellness growth journey for years to come.

Hive + Wellness are excited to appoint a General Manager People & Culture after a very successful tenure from the previous incumbent and year-on-year steady growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure advice and support across the employment journey is consistent with best practice approaches to recruitment and selection, engagement, culture and wellbeing, coaching and talent development, remuneration and benefits, performance management, and industrial relations;
  • Develop, implement, and report on strategic, delivery and operational plans including budgetary and other resource requirements, and develop appropriate control measures and mitigation strategies relating to risk;
  • Work with the Senior Leadership Team to provide strategic guidance and leadership to design and implement people, capability and culture initiatives that achieve organisational strategic objectives with focus on areas like staff engagement, culture and systems;
  • Lead and manage changes relating to organisational structure, whilst monitoring changes in external environments such as workplace supply issues, legislation, industrial environments, policy directions etc.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment/Industrial Relations or related business management discipline;
  • Demonstrated experience as a senior HR representative within a manufacturing or FMCG environment;
  • An attested ability to engage, influence and contribute to organisational strategy and translate that strategy into operational deliverables via a broad range of stakeholders and departments;
  • Bring a balanced style through seeking opportunities to find more sustainable and economic solutions across the business and educate and regulate individual team members on taking action;
  • Ability to pivot quickly between strategic HR initiatives and reactive daytoday operational issues across all levels of the business, both white and blue collar;
  • Strong influencing and coaching style that can be translated as relatable and valueadding to a workforce that mostly operational employees.
