James Barker House Aged Care Centre has 120 rooms spread over eight wings orbiting four nurses stations.

For more than 20 years, The Salvation Army James Barker House Aged Care Centre in Footscray has provided aged care services within the community.

We take pride in our services, which specialise in providing residential aged care for all people, particularly those who are marginalised and homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless, or experience AOD dependency.

We also have a tailored programs to uphold the wellbeing and dignity of our residents, to support them in leading a healthy and independent lifestyle.

We are seeking an Administration Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated team on a Full Time basis.


ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Admin Assistants deliver high quality customer focused reception and administrative activities for TSA Aged Care.

As the first point of contact, it is essential this position presents a professional image and creates a welcoming, warm and positive first impression, whether via phone or in person.


  • Undertake reception duties to support the day to day requirements of the area including answering phones, basic data entry referring queries to appropriate contact, archiving and filing of documentation, maintaining documentation compliance
  • Meet and greet clients and visitors and provide exceptional customer service
  • Assist Manager to identify, establish, improve and maintain administrative processes
  • Assist Manager with scheduling shifts and training for employees
  • Operation, maintenance and security of record keeping systems and software
  • Assist in administrative functions for meetings and events, including catering
  • Resident admission and discharge
  • Provide information to clients and visitors ensuring that all enquiries are dealt with in a confidential and sensitive manner
  • Other duties as directed

ABOUT YOU

  • An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army
  • Compassion, patience and resilience when dealing with challenging behaviours associated with AOD dependent residents
  • Demonstrated experience working in an administrative and/or reception role within a similar environment
  • Demonstrated experience with use of Epicor 10
  • Senior Living (desirable, but not essential)
  • Customer centric approach and ability to solve problems easily
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Warm and outgoing disposition
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise
  • National NDIS Workers Screening Check
