About the role:


  • The position will provide expert surveillance, data analysis and information management in FluTracking. Your role will be to analyse the onset, burden and transmission patterns of COVID19 and influenza across Australia.
  • FluTracking is one of the largest online COVID19 and Influenzalike illness surveillance system in the world tracks over 100,000 people each week in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Argentina and generates over 3 million records per year creating the opportunity for a 'big data' approach to these analyses. FluTracking will be expanding to Fiji in
  • You will be supported by a manager, public health physician, and other analytical staff within the team. There will be onthejob training and opportunities for professional development through work with Australian and international influenza and participatory surveillance experts. Population Health provides a culturally safe and supportive workplace. You will receive both face to face and mandatory online training.

  • Analysis and experience with statistical software packages such as SAS and R.
  • Problem solving, logical thinking skills, high level of attention to detail.
  • Time management and work prioritisation skills.
  • Communication and capacity to work in a small team,
  • Ensuring all work is conducted in a culturally appropriate and effective way for staff, clients and partners.
