The new PFS offers high-quality, safe, and value-based fertility services for all eligible Victorians including people who are single, Aboriginal, LGBTIQ+, living with a disability, from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, from regional and rural communities and/or living on low incomes.

Building on decades of leadership in fertility care the PFS offers a full range of integrated services including:

  • Fertility assessment and management, including consultations, fertility investigations, ovulation monitoring/tracking and ovulation induction
  • Assisted reproductive treatments, as well as counselling, information and support
  • A publicly run fertility preservation program so people with cancer or other health issues can have their tissue stored and retrieved for future us

Your contribution


As our Quality and Safety Manager (Fertility Services) you will define, develop, manage and report on the Fertility Services Quality Management System to meet Reproductive Technology Accreditation Committee (RTAC) Code of Practice.? Through your understanding of RTAC's Code and National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards you will lead the Fertility Services to exemplary standards of quality and safety, that comply with all statutory requirements.

You will extend this expert guidance to the fertility service satellite sites.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Implement the Fertility Services Quality Management System including incident management guidelines, systems, business rules, and timeframes.
  • Ensure all clinical incidents area are investigated and reported according to the Women's incident management guidelines, within required timelines, including reporting serious incidents to RTAC and VARTA as required.
  • Develop improvement plans in response to identified risks and along with department managers, facilitate their implementation

About you
To be successful within this role you will need to have:

  • Experience in nursing, medical, laboratory and/or quality and safety leadership in fertility care
  • Sound working knowledge of the RTAC Code of Practice
  • Experience in a systems approach to quality, safety, continuous improvement and risk management within defined timeframes.
  • Familiarity with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards
  • Experience with the Victorian Healthcare Incident Management System (VHIMS) or equivalent according to jurisdiction.
