Your role


Provide direction, support and day-to-day management for a team of injury management officers to facilitate injury and workers compensation claims in line with DCJ policies, procedures and guidelines.


What you'll do


As an Injury Management Team Leader in the Workers Compensation, Safety and Wellbeing team within People Division, you will be providing guidance and strategies on injury management, complex cases and workers compensation claims.

In addition, you will lead and manage a team to ensure effective and timely delivery of return to work services including liaising with business divisions and supporting early intervention initiatives.


There is an emphasis on interventions that will support recover at work options within the first 3-6 months of injury.

Strategies are to develop for claims that reduce risk and intervene early to reduce the impact of high severity claims on the individual.


You will consult, negotiate, and liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve effective outcomes in relation to injury management and return to work of employees for the business.


You will also maintain the accuracy, confidentiality and privacy of case files and relevant records to ensure compliance with legislation, policies and procedures.


You'll work as part of the Injury Management Operations Team and supervise a team of Injury Management Officers in a hybrid work environment.


Key knowledge and experience

  • Experience in a large diverse workforce and understanding of the TMF scheme.
  • Managing or leading a team of professionals in allied health or similar.

Essential requirements of the role
Qualifications or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience working injury management, rehabilitation or workers compensation insurance

  • A selfmotivated person that enjoys a challenge and is capable of an empathetic injury management approach that supports recovery at work to the benefit of the employee and the business.
  • This role requires someone who can innovate and achieve results in often complex situations with a focus on supporting workers who have experienced a psychological injury, including an injury that is secondary to an initial physical injury.
  • A key challenge of this role is to support DCJ injury managers in their efforts to engage with and enable line managers to support injured workers.
  • This role relies on a focus of providing a positive customer experience
  • Support a customerfocused culture in the organisation
  • Ability thorough knowledge of the services provided and relay this knowledge to customers
